Find Your Place

Discover where you truly belong

Every area offers a different way of living

The Costa del Sol may look small on the map, but each town and neighbourhood offers a very different lifestyle.

Some areas are lively and walkable. Others are quiet, private and more dependent on a car. Some are ideal for families, while others may suit holiday-home buyers, remote workers or people planning their retirement.

Choosing the right area is just as important as choosing the right property.

That is why we do not begin only with bedrooms, square metres and price. We begin with the life you want to create.

What matters to you?

Before looking at properties, it helps to think about your everyday priorities.

Honest Local Insight

Find your perfect fit

International, varied and full of contrasts

Marbella

Marbella is one of the best-known destinations on the Costa del Sol, but it is not one single lifestyle. The centre, Golden Mile, Nueva Andalucía, San Pedro, Elviria and the surrounding areas all offer different experiences. You can find beachside apartments, golf communities, family neighbourhoods, luxury villas and lively urban areas.

May suit you if: You value international services, restaurants, lifestyle options and a wide variety of property types.

Things to consider: Prices, traffic and atmosphere can differ greatly between areas. The name Marbella alone does not tell you what everyday life will feel like.

Several lifestyles within one municipality

Mijas

Mijas offers much more than one type of lifestyle. Mijas Pueblo has traditional Andalusian charm and mountain views. La Cala de Mijas offers beaches, restaurants and a lively coastal atmosphere. Calahonda, Riviera del Sol and other parts of Mijas Costa provide international residential communities and a wide range of properties.

May suit you if: You want a choice between village life, coastal living, golf areas and international residential communities.

Things to consider: Many areas are spread out, hilly or car-dependent. Travel times can vary significantly depending on traffic and the exact location.

Walkable, practical and active all year

Fuengirola

Fuengirola is one of the most practical coastal towns for everyday life. The beach, shops, restaurants, train station and many local services are close together. This makes it attractive for people who want to live with less dependence on a car. The town remains active throughout the year and has a large international community.

May suit you if: Walkability, public transport and year-round activity are important to you.

Things to consider: The town is busy, especially during summer, and may not suit buyers looking for privacy or a quiet residential environment.

A growing town with a relaxed coastal feel

Estepona

Estepona combines a charming old town, beaches, local life and a growing number of modern developments. It has become increasingly popular with international buyers while keeping a more relaxed atmosphere than some other parts of the coast.

May suit you if: You want a mix of local character, beaches, modern properties and year-round life.

Things to consider: The wider Estepona area is spread out, so some properties described as being in Estepona may be far from the town centre.
